Ensure that the PC is being run in AHCI mode and not IDE/RAID. This drive will be blazing fast.

An excellent SSD for most users, which don't require high speed sustained workloads that fully saturate the SATA III bus or the 22 GB SLC cache. Great value too, if you can get it for $70 or lower. If the price is close to a similarly sized 970 Evo (Plus) (not more than 40% difference), definitely get the NVMe instead.

I bought this last Christmas (2018) for $105 brand new. Only a few months later and the price dropped over $30. I've never had any problems with the SSD, but if you have an M.2 slot on your motherboard, well the SATA SSD becomes primitive. M.2 SSD's are relatively the same price as SATA SSD's now and days.

SATA 6 Gb/s SSDs like this are still fantastically priced for the near unnecessary performance you can get out of this for almost all use cases.

With the extremely small price tag this thing is absolutely astounding. I got this for Christmas and it made my boot times so much faster
